Paul E. Sheaffer, age 93, of Fairview Township, Etters, died at 1:55 PM Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Spahr) Sheaffer, to whom he was married to for 69 years at the time of her death.
Born January 28, 1931, in Barnitz, Cumberland County, a son of the late Frank D. and Elma C. (Crull) Sheaffer, he served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked as a Standards Analyst. He was a member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church where he helped with making chocolate Easter eggs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.
Mr. Sheaffer is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Potvin, of Etters, and Janice L. Cassatt, and her husband John, (Gwen) of York; three grandchildren, Sarah Potvin, Becky Reynolds, and her husband Matt, and Kraig Fletcher, and his wife Chrissy; two great grandchildren, Dean and Arlo; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by eleven siblings, Betty J. Holdway, Edna E. Fasano, Esther S. Holloway, Jane M. Dick, Margaret E. Sheaffer, Walter F. Sheaffer, Cloice H. Sheaffer, Thelma V. Conrad, Jay C. Sheaffer, Richard Sheaffer, and Roy E. Sheaffer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, April 5, 2024, at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Road, Etters, with The Rev. Randy Zeiler, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in the adjoining Church Cemetery. William E Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
