Cynthia K. Frey

Cynthia K. Frey, age 68, of North Codorus Township, York, died at 2:30 PM Saturday, February 21, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Harry W. Frey.

Born August 3, 1957, in Columbia, a daughter of the late Wayne E. and Carolyn J. (Crumling) Smith, she had worked as a seamstress in sewing factories.

Mrs. Frey is survived by two sons, Creden J. “CJ” “Sam” Sponseller, Jr., of Littlestown, and Chad M. Sponseller, and his wife Kelly, of North York; a stepson, Gregory E. Frey, of New Oxford; five grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.  She also had three brothers, Wayne Smith, Robert Smith, and Edwin Kinard; and five sisters, Kathy Burcham, June Eberly, Crystal Polutnik, Marie Tayler, and Donna McNall.  She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Harry W. Frey, Jr.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York.
