James E. Miller

James E. Miller, age 88, of Dover Township, Dover, formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died at 6:58 PM Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Providence Place of Dover. He was the husband of the late Alverda M. (Eberly) Miller.

Born September 27, 1937, in York, he was a son of the late Eugene N. Miller and Sarah B. (Mansberger) Bowers. He was retired from Idaho National Laboratory, where he had worked as diesel mechanic, and had also served in the US Army.

Mr. Miller is survived by two half-brothers, Eugene Miller, Jr., and Barney Miller; two half-sisters, Linda Reed, and Ann Filas; two grandsons; a great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Jewel, and cat, Blackjack. He was also preceded in death by two sons, James E. Miller, Jr., and Paul E. Miller; two brothers, Bruce Miller and Daniel Miller; and a sister, Carol Hendrix.

Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of private funeral arrangements.
